Adjudication

A decision by a court or judge in a juvenile case. Because juveniles cannot be tried under criminal laws, juvenile cases can never result in “convictions.” Thus, when a juvenile is found to have committed an act that would be a crime if committed by an adult, this decision is called an “adjudication.”
